FSMSSA Welcomes Work-Study Students to Gain Valuable Hands-on Experience at Our Headquarters
The FSM Social Security Administration (FSMSSA) is excited to have eight work-study students from the College of Micronesia (COM-FSM) gaining valuable hands-on experience at our Headquarters! This Work-Study Program is designed to provide students with real-world exposure to professional environments, helping them develop essential skills for their future careers.
Our work-study students are actively contributing across different divisions: Claims Division – 4 students assisting with processing and reviewing benefit applications. IT Division – 3 students gaining practical experience in technical support and systems management. Accounting Division – 1 student learning about financial operations and record-keeping.
By working alongside FSMSSA professionals, these students are not only building their skills but also gaining insight into the vital services we provide to the people of the FSM. We are proud to support the growth and development of future leaders and look forward to seeing them excel!

Scott Madan – a dedicated 20-year-old from the State of Yap, is currently pursuing an Associate of Science degree in Liberal Arts at the College of Micronesia. He plans to continue his studies at the University of Hawaii, where he aims to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science. His ultimate goal is to return home to Yap and contribute to his community by securing a job in his field. Scott hopes to gain essential skills that will prepare him for a career in his field. He is eager to learn and grow, using this opportunity to a build a strong foundation for his future endeavors.Monica Penias – 19 years of age and hailing from Pohnpei is a dedicated student pursuing a major in Micronesian Studies. Her academic aspirations extend beyond her current studies, as she aims to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science’s field of International Relations. Monica seeks to gain valuable hands-on experience that will contribute to her career development. She is eager to deepen her understanding of FSMSSA’s operations while honing her problem-solving skills. Josh Fanapngag – from Yap, is currently pursuing a degree in Liberal Arts under the HCOP program. With a strong commitment to academic excellence, he is exploring career opportunities while seeking to be part of a team that shares common goals and serves the community. Through his work-study experience at FSMSSA, Josh hopes to gain a deeper understanding of how the social security program operates while building meaningful connections. His curiosity and dedication to learning make him a great addition to the team.Kaela Nora Talley – a 21-year-old from Kitti, Pohnpei, is currently pursuing an Associate of Science degree in Liberal Arts with a focus on Marine Science. Passionate about environmental conservation, she aspires to earn a Master’s degree in Marine Science and use her expertise to protect and preserve Pohnpei’s marine ecosystem. Through her internship at FSMSSA, Kaela is eager to expand her knowledge beyond her field, exploring how FSMSSA operates and benefits its citizens. Her curiosity and dedication to learning make her a valuable addition to the team.HJ Albert – an 18-year-old from Madolenihmw, Pohnpei, is currently pursuing a major in Computer Information Systems. With a strong interest in technology and office work, HJ aspires to build a career in a professional setting where computers play a central role. Through this internship at FSMSSA, HJ hopes to gain valuable experience in file management and office operations while contributing to the community. With a dedication to learning and improving his skills, he is eager to make the most of this opportunity.Jeffrin Saul – a 21-year-old from Madolenihmw, Pohnpei, is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration. Having already earned an Associate of Science degree in Computer Information Systems, Jeffrin is dedicated to expanding his expertise in both business and technology. His academic goals include maintaining a strong GPA, improving his business skills, and preparing for a future leadership role in IT or accounting. Through his internship at FSMSSA, Jeffrin hopes to gain real-world experience, enhance his business and customer service knowledge, and develop essential teamwork and problem-solving skills. He is eager to see firsthand how FSMSSA serves the community and apply his learning to future career opportunities.Tisha-Rae Lebehn – from Pohnpei is currently pursuing a degree in Liberal Arts at the College of Micronesia. With a deep passion for helping others, she aspires to become a social worker dedicated to assisting those in crisis. Inspired by the impact of social work, Tisha-Rae is committed to making a difference in the lives of those in need. Through her work-study experience at FSMSSA, she hopes to gain valuable knowledge about social services, build meaningful connections, and strengthen her ability to advocate for individuals facing challenges. Her dedication to learning and helping others makes her a great addition to the team.Beitrian Eldridge – an 18-year-old from Madolenihmw, is currently majoring in Computer Information Systems. With a strong commitment to academic success, Beitrian aims to graduate with an Associate of Science degree and build a promising future in the field. Through this internship at FSMSSA, Beitrian hopes to gain valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in FSMSSA’s operations.
